It was my good fortune this last weekend that Mike and Harlan from Albion decided to show their wares at the
Oregon Knife Collector Show in Eugene Oregon. A short 110 mile drive had me at the Convention Center
where I was finally able to shake hands with Herr Sigman and discuss swords and football face to face. Little
did I know the peril which awaited me there. It's one thing to examine swords at a web site and oh! quite another
to do so physically when there are no small number at hand. A word of caution, handling a Svante kind of
makes getting one REALLY important.
I spent most of the afternoon with them at their table, and it was very enjoyable seeing people see people
discover what "real" swords look and feel like, especially if they've just come from a table laden with "Honest
to goodness Frodo's Ninja Batwing Katanas"
I got so caught up in the fun that when people asked me about the swords I answered their questions. I sure
hope I didn't cost them sales! (I did move a bunch of maille hackey sacks)
Svante.............
