I'm not sure that the zombies will appreciate the very nice wood grain on the handle.....

HA! You're probably right about that. Thanks! We got a great piece of bocote for this piece. It really turned out great.

Best,

Matt

Great stuff! This is the most brutal machete I have ever seen; and it's fantastic to see a high end take on a tool that tends to be stamped out of sheet metal. From the stats it sounds like it'll feel pretty energetic in the hand - good for hacking up the undead till the cows come home...and the zombies go after them instead.

Thanks, James! We had a lot of fun working on this piece. We spent a lot of time looking at different machete designs and trying to improve upon it. Which is tough when you consider how long the machete has been around. And even then, the basic design has remained relatively unchanged. I think we nudged the concept some with this piece, yet still remained faithful to the original design.

As I mentioned on the OlliN site on our News page, we've got another pattern in the works for the ZDC line. I'm really excited to show that one off to. We broke out of the more traditional blade pattern on that one. VERY different and VERY fun!

Thanks for the kind words.

Matt

Thank you very much! I don't think I've listed anywhere that this was my first opus. And it was from start to finish. Though I had LOTS of great help and guidance from Mark along the way. BIG thank you to Mark! You rock! I can't believe on how much I learned on this project. And after starting to work on the next piece for the ZDC, I can see how much faster it is going this time around, which is really exciting!!!

Thanks again, Shane!

Best,

Matt

Congratulaions on your first piece, Matt! I saw the additional photos on the Ollin website, and I love the subtle variation in the dual layered grip. Looking forward to the next one! Cool

Man, zombies are like pigeons, every time you think you've got the problem under control, they come back! WTF?! Laughing Out Loud Without doubt, that is the most beautiful machete I've ever seen (never thought I'd refer to a machete as "beautiful"..).
Nice work! Happy

Thanks, Scott! I love you're comment about zombies being like pigeons. That's awesome! I going to have to use that on our site if that's ok?
