A forum member (thanks, Wolfgang!) recently posted a link to this astonishing resource, the Codex Manesse:

Click through the links on the left side of that page to see amazing details of 13th century German martial culture, including arms, armour, combat, costume, etc. I was particularly taken with the many depictions of what seems to have been a common way to store/display a sword and scabbard (see first image below). Just in case some of you medieval sword enthusiasts were wondering about historically appropriate display....

i love these images. I have a few that I printed up and have hanging. Is there an English translation of this codex anywhere?
