I need help with this please as my German is not that good....

" Peitschenkolben " is listed in the [/i][/b]weapons section of this site.....

I think they might have to do with hanging off the end of Rus Seax or sword hilts ?
These are also the guys with the Viking-Rus maces. They also have some fantastic photos in the gallery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Peitsche" translates as "whip", "kolben" translates as "flask" or "butt"(on a gun). So my guess would be that it is the end of a whip or a flail of sorts.

That is correct. A Kolben is also something used in car-engines. But the correct translation ins this case is definitely mace.
The German term for mace is Streitkolben.
So Peitschenkolben could be translated as "whip-mace".

It can be confusing sometimes since different weapons have different names in different cultures *g*

Ah! I recognise these. I mentioned them in an earlier thread on maces. Basically, according to the archaeological excavation I've seen them in, they were used as a street-fighting weapon. The leather thongs were wrapped around the hand for easy concealment, since they didn't have a wooden handle (at least the ones shown didn't). Made of bone or, in at least one case, bronze-coated lead fixed on an iron pin. Very, very cool weapons.
