Thanks Nathan. So all in all, with the checkguards, mail nape guard and nasal, these helmets would have provided quite a high degree of protection.

only seven of this helmets are known. all were manufactured at the same place in it italy
that shows tat the ostgoten influence is more south then you explained,
all found helmets were found in graves of langobarden, franken and alemannen.
the ostgoten havent had any influence of this tribes after theoderchis dead after around 450 a.d
