It's cast as one piece...

Hi Carl, Harlan, Howie, Mike, Jason, Eric, and especially John G. (who hasn't returned my e-mail), Amy, Jody, Shan-an, Quentin, Whitney, the cats, Kevin(how's that dwarf?), Lars, the new guys, and anyone else I forgot! The Thegn looks fantastic. ONLY 2 LB's!!! That's utter madness! Probably one of the more unique pommels I've seen. Almost alien feel of dimensions, proportion and design. I like it alot.
PS Hi Peter!

I look at this sword and feel the presence of The Dark Ages.....then again, I feel it could be futuristic also...maybe something found in a Frazetta painting.
Keeping with Albion's no nonsense lines and at 2 lbs. it should be as fast as a katana yet sturdy as a longship.
I like the braided silver.
If this sword were mine (and it very well could be) I would tend to take the pommel to an engraver just for a unique touch of aesthetic identity....A personal thing for me....
It looks as though the handle has been increased in diameter making it a little more "meatier" in comparison to The Jarl and The Gotland...
....is this true....if so, I think that would be a good move.

Yup, but I feel like I'm clearly in the minority.
