Hi everyone,
Thought I would quickly show my new blunt longsword (for historical fencing training in the Liechtenauer tradition). The design is based on the famous longsword in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich, with some influence from the long handled Danish two handed swords of the 15/16th centuries. The sword was made by a talented local chap Nick from Bloodbeak ( http://www.bloodbeak.com/ ). Nick specialises in high quality, blunt steel swords for the Australian re-enactment community, which happen to be ideal for historical fencing.
Vital stats:
Total length - 51" (130cm)
Blade length - 37" (94cm)
Handle length including pommel - 13.75" (35cm)
POB/COG - 4" from the crossguard (10cm)
COP - approx 2/3 down the blade
Weight - 3.5lbs (1.6kg)
Edges - blunt, rounded off (approx 1.5mm).
The fit and finish is Nick's characteristic simple yet tasteful and high quality. The ring of steel is very present. The long handle, short COG and relatively light weight make this sword a dream to handle, and that long handle affords a great deal of leverage. A fine sword for fencing with finesse.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Alex, I'd rather not go into price specifics, but let me just say, it cost less than what most vendors ask for Del Tin swords here in Australia, and was significantly less than what it would cost us to import an A&A or Albion sword.
Bob, I am also very grateful for all Christian's work in bringing the German material to the English speaking world. While our interpretations sometimes differ to Christians, we make extensive use of his translation of Ringeck.
John, that is high praise coming from you. The pommel is peened flush, as all Nick's swords are. Construction is very traditional, though Nick makes the best use he can of modern high carbon steel and heat treatments. The grip is fine leather over a full cord wrap.
