Believe it or not, this is not far from where a gentleman began to write about Hobbits, rings and things...

BTW, Susan, that looks a whole lot more like Hobbitt country to me than the NZ landscape.

As to Hobbit country.. my shire is more like the shire but the NZ locations are very much as I saw Rohan, (like the Yorkshire moors only bigger) The dead marshes I always thought looked like Chartley Moss, being the only bog I know personally Wink
