This past Sat. while dropping off a model 1902 for reapirs with freind, distant relative, antique sword collector and budding blade smith, Will Goodwin, he sprang this on me. All hand made by him, blade is patterened after and original 1640 blade owned by another local collector. Hilt was (he said) influnenced a little bit my A-C mort. It is For Sale. Please have a look at the pics and give feed-back, so that I can pass it on to him. PM me if interested, and I'll put you in contact with Will.
Cheers,
Bill

I'll see what I have left in the way of close-up's, but I think that's the best one's due to the type of camera
I was using. Will pass along your compliments to the maker, thanks.
Cheers,
Bill

Say, that does look really good! If you get the chance to get some close ups, that'd be great, but from what I can see that's quite a good looking piece!

Thanks Bill. will pass along all feed-back to Will. You got to see some of his daggers at the cutting party. This is his first full fledged sword, from top to bottom. Has made a few sword hilts and tons of daggers, dirks and other asst. knives.
He is getting better ,IMO, with each new piece.
Cheers,
Bill

Wow... Very nice! Love that blade!
But... You've got to tell him he has to make a ribbon hilt

Hey David....long time lad.
Unfortunately I don't, but if would you'd like to know more, PM me and I'll put you in direct contact with Will.
Waiting to get together with him soon and try it out as far as the cutting aspect. It handles quite well from just doing a few dry swings with it. I know he's happy with how it turned out. He's had the blade finised for a couple of weeks and others kept telling him to mount a more traditional Scottish basket to it, so he let his creative side come out with something a little different.
Cheers,
Bill
ps here's one more somewhat close-up shot showing the piercings in the bowl.

Hi Bill,
What I like is the imaginative way that the thistle is used as both a side branch and a link to the side knucklebow. Very cool, and it works!

Hey Eljay,
Good to hear from. Will has always had a knack for taking original designs & adding bit of a twist
to them, mainly with his dirks & daggers. The positive feed-back from you, will surely be a blessing
to him.
Thanks much!
Bill

Just a little kicker for this before Will puts it on E-bay, it's still up for grabs.
We did some test cutting using pumpkins this past weekend and it went through the large orange menice's
effortlessly.
