Eric,
Good luck with your party! I know you'll have a blast.
I turned this topic into an event registration, so you could more easily see who wants to attend.
Have fun!

There is a good chance I'll be in New York soon, but that won't happen until the time of the NY Marathon since my friend is running it. This is on November 6th, I believe. I'm planning on making aother trip to the Met to focus on the armour. I'm sorry to miss your round table by so little time, but maybe some of the attendees can make it to the Met while I'm there.

Mike , Rose is about 25 minutes west of Syracuse so i'm guessing you'd be looking at about a 3.5 or so our drive(Huntington is near NYC right?) . Not a short trip but i'll chuck ya a couple of bucks for gas to help cover the cost ( with prices now the long drive is one thing the cost to drive it is a very different one) if you can make it.

That's gentlemanly of you, but not necessary. I'll talk to a few friends about it and see if we can car pool. I'll know next weekend when training class meets. I wanted to go to Gary's, but my schedule wouldn't permit it. This one I might be able to make.

Its 450 miles and roughly 8 hours for me, according to Mapquest.
Just a wee bit farther thaan I'm probably able to do at the moment but I hope the even is a roaring success!! Might not be a too bad a drive for Mark and people up towards Clevaland.

I'm really looking forward to this. Barring a catastrophic event, I'll be there (as will Nicole).

Something that we're working on adding to the day is Dr.Lee Jones comming out with some of his collection of original medieval swords( Dr. Jones is a scholar of medieval weapons and freind of the late Mr. Oakshott. Dr. Jones has several swords that Mr. Oakshott passed on to him). I will keep you posted as we work on this .

Is there any chance the Thegn will be ready for this event? That could actually make me pry my wallet open.

Few more additions, looks like a good possibility well be having noted smith Paul Champagne over for the day, a brief WMA demo and raffling (sp) off an MT item as well(don't know what maybe it'll be a surprise). This should be a H!@# of a day to pick an Albion!

The Albion swords that will be represented are all of great interest to me. I've been really wanting to handle the Solingen and Crecy especially. Has Paul Champagne confirmed his attendance?

These are both sweet, Jay! You'll be pleased with them.... Take the time to back-to-back the Knight and Solingen. Similar, but very intriguing, the difference. I own the knight - two of them, actually... but will eventually nab the Solingen because it also feels just that good. The Crecy - well, we've discussed the heck out of it in other threads. Fun, lively...
The rest of the lineup should be fun as well, and I'm certain others will bring their collections (or pieces of them) to share and enjoy.
My round table a few months back was a lot of fun - tons of steel, and great folks. I hope you folks have a great time!
Pictures and stories, guys... need pics and stories.
