Ilya and myself have wanted to make a pole weapon from wrought iron with the proper forge welded construction for awhile. We wanted examined many halberds with specific attention on how the square socket appeared to be made and attached. We didnt have all the time in the word for this project but a lot of our original goals were accomplished by making one.

If you would like to see the build video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqGJl53AGWU

If you would like to see or listen to a podcast where we talk about the process of making it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krKH0EWqlIc&t=1108s

This was fun and we learned quite a bit about this item just by running through the steps of making one without a modern welder. I know that I truly look forward to further exploring these methods !

We have been kind of laying low lately. After my bladeshow grind for my JS test, I needed a minute! Would love to do something with you sometime soon!

Sorry I'm just now seeing this!

I wasn't familiar with the video game it was inspired by, but the end result looks like the fancy sort of Italian Halberd similar to several notable examples, albeit with fascinating pattern-welding!

Great work!
