When you see armour on ebay from a random Indian / Pakistani / Bangladeshi shop, do a reverse image search In this case, the images were stolen from a 2016 post on imgur which got them from Facebook:
https://imgur.com/t/hema/dSZTm
"This suit of gothic armour is a modern recreation by Peter Polyak from Kretchett Armoury and Misc: https://www.facebook.com/groups/769051953147885/"
Anyone who orders from the random ebay account and trusts that what they get will look like the stolen photos will get what they paid for.

This is why you always buy from an importer, not direct from the seller. If there is a problem and the vendor is in your own country, you have consumer protection laws.

For $650? your not getting that image.
You get a nauticalmart special,
🤮
I mean it might be wearable just like a sack is wearable as clothing.
For 650 you can get a good start to a suit of armour, some one like forge of svan or berliosz armoury or one of the other makers would get you a quality back an breast likely with other parts as well.

Thank you for the replies guys! I really can’t understand how they can use these pictures if they sell really bad armor, there must be a lot of returns since most people pay with Paypal and I would definetly ask to get my money back if I got a armor looking like these pictures
This is really serious false advertisement, a scam
Can’t understand either why it would be so difficult to just make a piece of armor that look like it should, I mean if you have the means to mass produce you could make these correct really quick and cheap

A lot of these sellers open a new Paypal account for every transaction. You can't get a refund because the account is closed as soon as they get your money.

It's much worse than you think. At *least* 90 percent of the buyers out there have no idea what is good or bad about armor, so they'll see something shiny that they like and order it. And most aren't even considering wearing it, it's just to look cool in the office or living room. So they're happy with whatever they get. Most of those who do try it on have been taught that armor is supposed to be heavy and uncomfortable and that you can't move or see while wearing it, so "One Size Fits None" is perfect, again. Other buyers might have an idea that whatever they get is not perfect, but they're just going to modify, mix, and match for whatever LARP or cosplay they have in mind, and again won't care what comes out of the box.
Asian countries have a VERY different business ethic than here in the US. A few companies do honestly try to deal fairly with picky reenactors, and we've gotten some decent stuff from them. But we're a tiny proportion of their market, and they will cheerfully pirate each others' designs, ideas, and images for their own use. And even if it *were* so easy to make armor that looks like it should--and that usually is NOT as simple as you might think--why should they bother? They're making a killing off their mass-produced junk just fine! And why bother trying to get flattering photos of their own products, when better photos of better items are all over the net? Heck, I've seen photos of myself many times. And they know how to play the system when selling on ebay, as Dan says, and can have new shops up and running instantly, should they ever get encounter someone who gives them grief.
You can't beat them, and you can easily waste thousands ordering from them. So don't bother! If you want decent armor, order custom from a decent armorer. There are several well-regarded shops in Europe, now, as well as the American and Canadian armorers, and they'll take longer and cost a bit more than the ebay junk, but you will never regret it.

There's a list in this thread of web addresses for eBay armour sellers who use stolen photos. They also sell on Etsy. I've contacted both Etsy and eBay in the past regarding this. Amourers work hard, invest time and money in their wares and advertising, then other people STEAL their photographs and even their descriptions. Ebay and Etsy say they "care" but nothing happens, they don't enforce their own rules. Some sellers on eBay and Etsy even use photos stolen from MUSEUM websites, offering armour that was worn by HRE Maximilian I!
I am presently having a back and forth with an Etsy seller in India who is using Peter Polyak's images. He is one of half a dozen different "armourers" in India who sell on Etsy and who use the exact same stolen photos. As someone else posted links here, I hope it's okay for me to do the same. This particular Etsy seller is at:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1221847549/15th-century-medieval-gothic-armour-suit?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-clothing-other&utm_custom1=_k_EAIaIQobChMI9dbEj7r--AIVymJyCh0kGAB6EAQYAyABEgKMrPD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12561590580_121983257680_506898327117_pla-297616371983_c__1221847549_553388539&utm_custom2=12561590580&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9dbEj7r--AIVymJyCh0kGAB6EAQYAyABEgKMrPD_BwE
He sent me two sarcastic replies when I told him that what he was doing was wrong. Feel free to contact him with criticism, nothing will change of course, but someone needs to stand up to this form of theft.
