Thank you for ordering.

At this very moment people living in the UK are receiving their copies. The rest of Europe will shortly follow. And then the rest of the world.

Best wishes,
Martijn

Sounds very cool! When the summary talks about including technical information, does it go into methods of patterning, etc?

The US distributor lists the book as Out of Stock. When do you think they'll have more copies?

Hey Chad,

I ordered mine on the 26th of December and was notified by the publisher around January 10 it was on backorder. Subsequently they told me that they are hoping for new stock in 8 weeks and that my order would be automatically processed at that time.

The message from the US distributor that it is 'out of stock' is incorrect. The stock still has to arrive. Amsterdam University Press shipped the books last Sunday.

I have been told that the trip takes longer than in pre-pandemic times.

Hope that answers your questions.

Best wishes,

Martijn

Hi Martijn,
I tried to order your book and filled in all the details including the discount code but when the payment page came up it had not registered the discount. I tried again but with same result. I then emailed Ingrams, the distributors, to check the problem but they have not replied despite acknowledging my query. That was a week ago - not very businesslike.
Can you help or explain the problem please. Thank you.
Regards, Neil

Hi Neil,

I am sorry to hear this, but I am sure we can solve this. There are two options we can try:

1) I have heard from two others that they had the same problem. Both were ordering from the USA distributor and placing their order with a cell phone. When they ordered the book from a computer or ipad they had no trouble with the discount code.

2) I will give you in a PM the email of the person at Amsterdam University Press that can help you in case the first option does not work or does not apply.

Thank you for considering buying the book and best wishes,

Martijn

My copy arrived today! On some initial skimming through, there's lots of really interesting stuff in here. It's a great addition to my library and I'm looking forward to going through it in more depth soon.

I pre-bought it at Ingram Publisher Services UK, but after one message telling my the book was on backorder I haven't received any update about it, nor have they charged me, though they have it now in stock.

I don't know if a should place a new order or what

@ T. Kew: Good to hear and I hope you enjoy it.

@ Ander: Indeed it is now in stock and orders placed previously should be arriving or already arrived if you live in the UK. I you live elsewhere it probably takes still a bit more time. Just to make sure, I will PM you the email of the person at Amsterdam University Press that can answer your question.

Best,

Martijn

I ordered from Ingram on Dec 25th and received a message saying that it was on backorder. They took money from my card on Jan 19th but I've received no update on my order. I'm guessing that they now have it in stock and that they processed my order on Jan 19th. Hopefully it is on its way.

Suggest checking your bank statement to see if the money has been taken out.

Dan,

It should. In any case, I will send you a PM with the email of the person at AUP who can make sure.

Best,
Martijn

Hi Martijn, Thanks for your advice. My problem was not with my method as I used my main computer, so I will try your second suggestion and email the person at AUP. Best,
Neil
