|
|
We are introducing our newest item today! It is the Leeds Castle Sword a Type XVIIIc based on the piece on display at the RA in Leeds and property of the Leeds Castle Foundation. It's one of the large wide bladed swords that came out of the St Irene Arsenal at the turn of the 19th Century. This style of sword has been popular for our custom orders for a while so we decided to do one as a regular item. Check out details here in today's blog post. We are also having a contest which will have the first production model of this sword as its prize! You can get all the info on that here the contest will be through Sept and everyone will get a chance to vote on the winner so tell all your friends to vote.
We hope this brightens up these tough times a bit and people enjoy putting together their entry!
Also remember if you enjoy going to Renaissance Fairs or Reenactment Events to check in with those artists you would patronize. Many of them rely on these events for part or most of their livelihood and their cancellation can be difficult to adjust to.
Here are two online spots for the Minnesota show to check out
MINNESOTA ONLINE RENAISSANCE MARKET SQUARE and Friends of Minnesota Renaissance Artisans and Shops Facebook Group
Be happy, be healthy, be a force for good!

Joke's on you, we all have plenty of practice explaining to our spouses why we absolutely need to have exactly this particular sword, whichever sword we are talking about.
That being said, I absolutely plan to submit an entry, because I most definitely need this particular sword in my collection.
Just one question: is the contest open to international participation?

As some of you no doubt have seen our contest has had to be adjusted. Smiths maybe should get more help with marketing/pr/promotion than they think
Anyway due to some terms of service issues and such we have extended the voting to Oct 4th and have a new platform to vote from. Our ability to use the likes from youtube as the vote ran into an issue and we have to ask folks to vote again. It is not ideal but the best way we could find to keep it fair and match the intent of the original idea of the vote.
Click here for links to the contest finalist and voting platform.
