I would like to see what the 1893 standard German cavalry lance looked like while being wielded by someone, but I can't find any images that I know depicts it for certain. I found one picture of a german ww1 lancer and that one looks like how the 1893 was described on wikipedia, but I don't know if the 1893 pattern was still in use at that time or if it had been replaced by something similar. Could anyone here confirm which is the case, and if it had been replaced, do any of you have some images of the 1893 lance being wielded by a rider?

Interesting picture! I wonder why the horse has no gas mask in the photo...
Here are some more pictures that I found just now, including a bigger version of the one you posted:
https://rarehistoricalphotos.com/german-cavalry-lances-1918/
It includes also some technical details regarding the lances used.

Thanks for the link! The 1893 was 3.58 meters long so that site basically confirms it had been discarded by ww1!
