Greetings!

I'm starting to get more into the I.33 and thinking to get a new sword to pair up with my buckler. My reenactment character lives in the mid 14th century /mostly 1342 to 1382/ and of german origin. What oakeshott type would be fitting in your oppinion? The type XIV is a tempting one with it's eye catching style, but could be outdated a bit for the time frame and the XV is more of a thrusting sword to my understanding, although that form is also close to my heart. Any good suggestions: I'd glaly receive museum examples too so it could a be a base to arrange with the swordsmith in the near future.

Thanks for your help in advance!

I think that you could still use a XIV for those dates. It would still be in circulation in my opinion. Or use a type XVI, which ls somewhat similar to a XIV.
