I found a mail hauberk for sale online which I like, and would like to buy then add a coif and mufflers to. The only problem is that it's blackened, which doesn't work for the place and time I want to represent. Does anyone know of a way to remove blackening? Would rolling it around in a barrel of sand work, or could some chemical method do the trick? Thanks for the help!

Just like Dan said ! Most people would be complaining that the blackened finish wears out too fast, or easily ..... Wink

Well, that is true for people who like and wanted blackened maille ..... Big Grin

Oh, and the old shirt is what is going to end up blackened !

You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!
