Is it just me. or does it seem like an unusual amount of pnuemonia and related sickness is around right now. I missed an entire week of work due to a sick family. Our 11 month old went in with severe chest infection, then the 5 yr old went in to the emergency room with high fever and stiff neck. We've had several viral meningitis cases locally so we were pretty worried. It was a strep infection which was beginning to go systemic ...still better than meningitis! it cleared up quickly with antibiotics. Next, my wife ended up with a really bad case of strep throat. To top it off, the baby started having a severe allergic reaction to the amoxicillin four days into taking it, so it was backinto the emergency room Sunday. Somehow, I came out unscathed! Two people from work have children hospitalized with pnuemonia as well as another friend of mine's kid.
Now we're doing the houshold wipedown with clorox and lysol.

Sorry to hear about the health problems Dan!
Good to hear that everything is looking up! I suspect that you guys in Texas need a good northeastern winter to kil all the germs! Places without winter tend to make me nervous.

It's the same here in north, in Finland. Our ex-prime minister had pneumonia or something and broke his rib while coughing hard! Also I have been suffering from respiratory diseases and my work friends got influenza with high fever.
