Picked this up a few days ago. Listed as an antique parrying dagger. Any idea of its nationality or when it might’ve been made?

It’s 24” in length and the blade is 18.5”. Only marking is at the base of the blade and it looks like a “G” with two lines over it (maybe). You can see it in photos 4 and 6. The handle is wooden with a brass ring around it.

Any help is appreciated!

A theatrical prop, maybe? Some things about its construction (like the welded filler where the blade meets the guard, the design of the guard and pommel, the lack of a peen, etc.) make me doubt it's all that old. I might also go for decorative Victorian piece, but it lacks the exaggerated ornateness of some of those.

An edit to include some found across the Latin American countries and the Philippines but the consensus is primarily found in Mexico.
