Hey all, finished this piece today and it's available for sale. This seax was entirely produced in the shop from scratch. The blade is 1095 with a bright, nearly mirror polish. Distal taper is from 3/16 to 1/8 inch. The fittings are mild steel with a satin polish, and the grip is made of birch with a burned finish. The sheath is made of vegetable-tanned leather with decorative knotwork and a dark red color. The blade seats edge-up in the sheath as seen on historic examples. The tang in peened.
The price is $75. If you are interested, you can PM me or email contact@paladinforge.com
Stats:
Overall length: 11.75 inches
Blade length: 7.125 inches
Blade Width: 1 inch
Grip length: 3.625 inches
Point of balance: .5 inches from guard
Weight: .55 pounds
Thanks for looking,
Alan
