I'm happy to announce that an article of mine has been published in the recent December issue of Medieval Warfare, which I hope may be of some interest to forum members. The article covers the history of the various swords in modern museums that have been claimed to be one or the other of El Cid's swords. These have been discussed before in the forum and elsewhere so much of the story may be familiar, but I have tried to cover some less well known aspects as well.

Space for the article was simply much too limited to go into as much detail as I might have liked, so I would be very happy to discuss further and provide references... Any other feedback is also welcome!

Despite shorter than we may have liked, it was nice.
Here you have a photo taken in my recent visit to Burgos.

Thanks Iagoba, very nice photo! There are so few good shots of the sword online, and none we had the rights to use for the article unfortunately...
