Hi all,
My brother wants to do some forging with me, so I am asking for recommendations of course available in the south east of England. His preference is to make a knife via forging and not stock removal.
Currently I am looking at:
Owen bush
Clarke Knives

Owen is of course a contender and I have attended his 3 day knife course a few years ago, which was excellent. I think however it may to be a bit too expensive for my brother, especially when I factor in accommodation, which is why I am trying to find a number of options.

Dave Budd teaches some courses:

He's a nice guy, and I like his work, but not sure what his courses are like.

Story about Clarke Knives:
My partner and I went on this course as a birthday treat and would highly recommend it. We picked this blacksmithing experience because you could choose to work on your own projects in the afternoon. We made a number plate for our house which worked out perfectly with the team's support. They encouraged us to be more ambitious and helped us to also make a garden sculpture. I found the team really supportive across the whole day. It was also great fun meeting the others on the course and seeing what they worked on.
regards Topazy.
