Hello All,
I am new to these forums, but I have been going through old posts and looking at various topics that interest me and I see there are some Western Martial Arts Practitioners here.
A bit about my background :
I am a Provost with the Company of Maisters, and am due to take my maisters prize next year. I have a reasonable amount of experience with all weapons within the English system.
My favourite bladed tool is the Anglo Saxon Broken back Seax and I have been studying the Seax for many years.
Mainly the fighting methods associated with it. Information regarding the fighting techniques of the broken back Seax are rare and I compare much of my study of the Seax with the company of maisters English system of Martial Arts, as we maintain the belief that the English martial arts was an art passed down and practised by the entire nation which was passed on mainly by the original Company of Maisters which was in turn created out of a common martial lineage passed down from the Anglo Saxon peoples and before.
Does anyone else have an interest in the Seax?
Or study the Seax as an historical object?

Hi Frank,
I am very interested in the seax, I have some, but have some trouble working how they would be used in a martial context. I see that you live in London -- I live in Essex. Let me know if you fancy a pint to sicuss the Anglo Saxon weapons and their uses.
Vheers,
Paul
