I have only just finished a new ecranche for jousting with historical solid lances. I am jousting at the St. Ives Tournament in Sydney next weekend so nothing like leaving it til the last minute.
I didn't get any construction photos, but I glued and curved 7 layers of 3mm plywood and then cut out it out and joined in the side section with glue and long timber screws.
And jump to finished. It has 6 layers of cloth and glue over the front face. Then painted.
"Come! Let us lay a lance in rest,
And tilt at windmills under a wild sky!
For who would live so petty and unblessed
That dare not tilt at something, ere he die?"
--Errantry, John Galsworthy
That is beautiful....a work of art. No way would I let a lance scuff that up. May the Saint protect you, my friend. .........McM''Life is like a box of chocolates...'' --- F. Gump
