New sword made by me: Teutonic Order longsword, late14th century.
SWORD
14th century sword based on some museum examples connected with Teutonic Order, especially two swords from Malbork Castle Museum and National Museum Szczecin, both in Poland. Inspirations for this sword was also some examples from German museums, notably from Deutsches Historisches Museum.
Measurements:
overall length 1160mm
blade length 940mm
grip length 155mm
blade width 58mm
thickness: at the base 6mm/ near the top 2mm
crossguard 235mm
pommel 56x50x40mm
balance 125mm
weight 1730g
sharp
hardness 54HRC
SCABBARD
Scabbard and belt for this sword reflects a German style with black colors combined with gold / silver fittings.
On the belt we can see also silver letters 'AM' combined in medieval initial.
On the scabbard we can see the beginning words from old prayer: 'Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genitrix '. This details also reflects Teutonic Order canon.

I can't believe the swords you are producing, one after another!
I've been to Malbork and remember the sword mentioned (actually two big beautiful XIIIs). Very similar to this one except I recall a more rounded tip on the original.

Doug, I make swords from years, but now situation is different because from around a year I can focus only on this work
also, I make swords in stages: first forging a few blades and hardening - and then I`m finishing one-by-one
sometimes it looks like I produce many of them - but it is probably some illusion
I`m alone - nobody helps me. and as you know making swords needs a lot of time.
oh, by the way - it is very close to finish your blade
about the Malbork swords... good to hear that you`ve been there. I`m a visitor every year at summer time in Malbork museum a lot of good stuff there and I have plenty of pictures of swords and other weapon. interesting fact is that every year they have some other swords in deposit - that why every time when I was there I could saw some "new" swords
