Hi guys,

Here's a review of my XVIIIa longsword I sent out to Dave Rawlings of the London Longsword Academy for a review. Dave is a very experienced HEMA instructor and very familiar with high end swords. Nothing better than hearing feedback from someone who knows what he is talking about. Very helpful and I will make sure to incorporate the feedback on the next piece.

There has been some misunderstanding about the price but that was cleared up.

The second review, also of the same sword, was made by Peter Smallridge of the also London-based Waterloo Sparring group. This review is in written form and also contains some cutting.

Thanks for looking,
Lukas

The second review is now online as well. You can find it here: https://hemanews.com/2016/05/19/review-longsword-by-lukas-mg/

I also edited the first post to reflect that.

So far, your customers seem to be quite happy! I can definitely see how maybe putting more of a radius on the pommel edges might make it more comfortable to grip-- but then again, I do not know what the original antiques are like, in that regard.

I think he was also correct when he addressed the "X-factor" in his review-- every piece you've made so far definitely look like they would bestow a very strong pride of ownership!

Keep us updated on your current and future projects!

Thanks for the comment.

Personally, I have zero issues with uncomfortable edges on that pommel but that is just that, personal experience. It certainly doesn't hurt to hear another opinion on it.

I'm keeping you posted, don't worry Wink The lack of replies can be a bit disappointing but I've already noted that this is the norm here and doesn't mean people aren't seeing it or don't appreciate the post.

Good reviews. I've admired your swords in other threads and I'm glad that your work is getting out there. There's a lot to be said for clean, elegant designs combined with performance.
