In respect of H.E.M.A. training. Can anyone recommend any good training books (or DVDs) in respect of the German Messer ?
I'm thinking something along the lines of the Sigmund Ringeck's Knightly Art Of The Longsword by David Lindholm but directly aimed at the Messer.
Thanks

I cannot recommend you books but I can recommend you DVD's, Paul.
The DVD's I can recommend you are:
The Messer of Johannes Lecküchner (Part 1)
German Medieval Martial Arts (Vol. 2) - Sword, Buckler and Messer
“You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength”
- Marcus Aurelius

If you know Liechtenauer's system well (and you do need to know it quite well) then interpreting Johannes Lecküchner directly from Wiktenauer is not too difficult. Jeffrey Forgeng also published The Art of Swordsmanship by Hans Lecküchner in 2015. However, this book does not include modern illustrations, but it does include the 15th century illustrations of the original manuscript.
