Gents are there any dealers here? I am looking to get something 18th, 19th century with no real preference on type but was wondering if there is something as common as heck from that era, that one can pick up for just a few hundred bucks. This will be the only antique in my collection.

Putting this out internationally as well, someone mentioned the French Briquet as common option? http://www.antique-swords.eu/G91-1816M-French...1830.html.

Thanks for any thoughts on the above and buying ones first antique sword in general

try this one in the UK

I got two antique swords from them (a WWI German infantry saber, and a British 1798 infantry saber) for very reasonable prices ... but be careful, antique sword collecting can be addictive :-)
Cheers and beers,

Thanks Gents! Much appreciated. Yes it may become habit forming I fear. Though I have promised myself one in the collection only. Hopefully the partner will keep me in line on that count Happy

So I take it you can shop with confidence from the reputable dealers? Apart from ensuring you are getting a good deal which is up to you, is everything generally authentic and delivered as advertised?
