Just a heads-up, Paul Binns has a sharp pattern welded late Roman/early Saxon spatha blade for sale here https://www.facebook.com/PaulBinnsSwords
Paul's pattern welding is excellent and he is a good man to deal with. I have a PW spear by him and had a beautiful PW seax which I regrettably sold. This would look great with a simple horn or antler hilt, similar to the Behmer type 1 from Nydam in the attachment below.
P.S.Don't think this is breaking any rules: I am not affiliated to Paul, just a satisfied past customer. Somebody please buy it, to stop me from doing so.

It is very possibly that I am wrong, but when you go to the link and open up the comments, Andrew Thompson has replied "sold" and Paul has asked him to PM him for purchase arrangements. at. about 7AM this morning. It is not important except for the fact that I would have liked to purchase it.

Robert.
Drop Paul and e-mail, he replies quite quickly. Perhaps I am seeing it wrongly on FB, but the sold comment was added 7th February, whilst at 9.23 GMT this morning in an e-mail from Paul, the blade was still available for sale. I also understand that he has another PW sword in the works. PLEASE buy them, like I said, to stop me from doing so!
