Can anyone help me identify this dagger?
what museum, measurements, anything?

I can't say what museum it may be displayed, but it is a Scottish Dirk, circa late 18th century to early 19th century, probably 17 inches in length, more or less. The shallow basketweave hilt carving replaced the earlier interlace carving around 1790's and has remained the dominant Dirk handle carving style ever since. The haunches are what lead me to think it's very late 18th century.

I agree with Christopher but think it may date a little later. As for where it is, i.e. what museum, I have no idea. Not postive what language the barely visible label to the right is but probably French? Given there is also an English label, this dirk may be in Quebec but just guessing on that.

The explanations on the side are in english and french, so there are good chances that this museum is on Canadian territory. In the province of Quebec, French is the official language, so french would have first billing. I would look to the other provinces where english is dominant, furthermore I would look to a federal museum where, Canada being officially bilingual, both languages must be used equally, though english is usually the first used. I don't think a federal museum in Quebec would push things by having an english first policy in the only officially french speaking province, so chances are that this museum would be in Ontario, or Nova Scotia, or anyone of the other provinces.
