Hello, first post to the forum!
I've got a day off work in Braunsweig, Germany soon, are there any museums there with interesting armouries worth visiting?
Searching the internet has been frustrating so far.
Thanks for any info!

Hello Jules,
I admit, I do not know anything of Braunschweig or of the museums there.
But it´s not much more than 1 1/2 hours by ICE train to Berlin, and that city has quite a selection of museums and exhibitions worth visiting, for example the Deutsches Historisches Museum. The Vikings exhibition is housed at the Martin Gropius Building in Berlin till early 2015, as well.
Hope this is of some help.
Mark

Hi Jules,
I was in Brunswick/ Braunschweig some years ago and visited the Landesmuseum there which had quite a collection from the original Ducal Armoury. If it is not closed for restoration (so often the case nowadays) it is well worth a visit.
Good luck,
Neil

It is only 1.5 hours to Wuppertal. Stefan Dieke has his school (Alte Kampfkunst ) there. He is THE MAN for German sword fighting, especially Meyer. His web site is: http://www.alte-kampfkunst.de.

There are several museums in Braunschweig and the most notable is the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum. The museum is currently closed for renovation and will be opened next year.
