Here is my second attempt to pattern-welded spear head-first is in scrap-box...
Overall length-39cm
Weight-450g

A beautiful piece. If the first head didn't pass muster as a whole spear-head, perhaps you could save it as a javelin head? Just a thought, I would hate for the first one to be scrapped if it's anywhere near this quality!

It seems like the socket is copper. Is that so? Or is it steel and the light is making it appear that way? Also if it is copper, how did you go about attaching the head to it?

that is the absolute best spear I have seen in some time. I love the coloration of the socket, too. very nice work.
