Hi guys,
i have a knife leather sheat that it is very troublesome, first of all it smells orribly, i think that it is coated with a kind of chemical protector, and for second it is very rigid and hard,
i'm pretty sure that it is true leather, not a fake, so could give me some ideas for removing the smell and made it softer?
i have tought about using vegetal oil of some kind but i don't know if it is a good idea
thanks

Throw it in the dishwasher, if you have one. If not, chuck it in with the next load of laundry you wash. Take it out afterward and let it air-dry outside in the sun. Once dry, coat it down with veg oil...problem solved. ........McM

Hi Mark,
thank you for the tips, do you have a preference regarding the kind of oil to use?
the sheat has also some black painted metal parts on it, do you think that the paint will be removed washing it?
