Hi All,
A while back in another thread about nagels on eating knives, I came across a lovely picture of a bronze handled eating knife. The handle was basically styled like a small Bauernwehr and I I have a thing about working with bronze, eating knives and baeurnwehr - it was only a matter of time! That thread can be found here http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t...ght=nagels
Here are three of these knives. The one on the left was bladed as a skinner at the request of the customer (sold) The other two are bladed more in keeping with 15thC mid status knives and so are really eating knives rather than working knives.
The black scabbarded one on the right has a singled sided grind detail on the false edge for about 2/3rds of the blade, which is a common late 15th feature. The red scabbarded one has a clipped point to the blade and some inlaid dot patterns on the blade, also quite 15th, but a little earlier. However in both cases the knife should be dated to the second half of the 15thC.
I hope you like them. The middle one and the right hand one are both available at £160 and £150
