Hi All,
One of my favorite weapons is the knightly pole axe as replicated by Arms and Armor. Both replicas and existing samples that I have seen are for two handed use. While browsing through myArmoury. I stumbled upon this pic which clearly depicts a knight with a short,single handed version. It doesn't seem very common so my question is...does anyone know of or have pics of any actual surviving examples..

Very cool pictures you guys! I had no idea one handed pole-axes were made and used. I love the last link, where it clearly shows that the swords were just back-up weapons...still sheathed while they fought with poleaxe and shield. I wonder if it is artists interpretation, but some of the handles seemed to really vary in length. The longer ones looked like they could be used easily with two hands as well.
