Hello guys

I would greatly appreciate any help describing / naming the armour this "sleeping soldier" is wearing. It would be really great to know, if I'm on the right track..

The helmet looks like a pretty standard Eisenhut from mid 14th Century Germany.

His body armour is hidden (my guess is a Coat of Plates)

Same with his shoulder defense (my guess is a simple cup semilar to the Visby findings)

His rerebrace looks like an anatomic piece of plate armour

His greaves looks like a pair of anatomic pieces of plate armour semilar to so called bazubands

His knees seem to be protected by a floating knee cup

And finally he appears to be wearing half or full greaves

Would you agree with this? Otherwise please correct me if I am wrong..

The rerebraces look like unadorned versions of the leather one in the British Museum.

The rerebrace could in fact be of semilar design in leather.

I did indeed mean vambraces.. Do you think the bazubands in fact may also be made of leather?

I think you are right regarding the leg armour. It is pretty clear his comrade to his left is wearing half greaves and floating knee cups..

I was hoping these to be plate armour, since I was considering ordering a reconstruction for bohurt fighting..

I just like to inform you that the sculpture is part of the Holy Sepulchre inside Freiburg Cathedral in Southwest Germany. It is dated around 1350.
