Weapons like the famous Maciejowski bible 'choppers' show up all over the place in 13th and 14th Century (and 15th Century) art especially the ones which basically look like a bill-guisarme or a glaive with a haft cut down to a foot or two long, but also all kinds of other odd choppers. Kind of "hand and a half" weapons, maybe you could think of these as a special class of cavalry (and infantry) pole arm.

You don't see them much in RPG's, (including mine I'm ashamed to admit), or in the pop culture, genre fiction, or most 'light' history shows, and I'm not sure why. They seem like they may have been a fairly important class of weapons. I suspect this partly may be because I don't know of any antiques which are still around. Of course some may have been re-hafted as two-handed weapons so we wouldn't recognize them.

Does anyone know of any surviving antiques?
