FYI: The Royal Amouries are offering two issues of Arms & Armour per year for USD $32 (including shipping). Judging from the site below, these promise to be of great value to many of us.

I just subscribed. Thanks much for the link. At $32 /year even one good article per issue makes it worth it.

Thanks Sean, this is the first I've heard of this. Louisville is now on the future vacation list!

Patrick if you go through Louisville at any point, please let me know. That's about 90 minutes from here. I'll buy you a beer.

Will do Chad!
After looking at their website I told my wife that this is on the "must see" list.

If you go on vacation, take a trip out to Churchill Downs and watch the ponies run.
I'd tell you to go watch the Derby, but Derby admission costs $50 a head just to get into the Paddock and the Infeild, so go on another day. It's a beautiful place... you won't regret going even if you don't care for horse racing.
The Fraiser Arms Museum is in a really neat part of Louisville, (pronounced "Loo-vl" by the natives, not "Louis-ville") next to the Louisville Slugger Museum and across the street from the Natural Science Museum, and a short walk from nice resturaunts. Admission was not expensive... (sorry, but I can't recall the dollar amount at the moment) and if you have interests beyond the medieval -the French and Indain War, for instance- you'll find the trip supremely worthwhile.

I have not gotten mine yet, but I cannot wait.
Sean, did you get any conformation when you subscribed (on-line I presume)?

I did get a confirmation e-mail, Alexi. Something like "Your Maney Publishing Order has been processed". That was Nov. 18. My first attempt to subscribe hit some sort of technical snag, but it was clear at that moment that I had to re-start. Maybe they don't process the subscriptions automatically, but just when they get to them. Anyway, mine started with Vol 1, #2, and I've asked Maney how to get the first issue. I'll let you know what I hear back from them.

sounds great Sean. Haven't ordered the R-A 17th c. London Armourers book yet, still waiting to see if the
the wife's relatives from across the pond stuff it in with the annual Yule care package.

Thanks Sean,
I was just about to get worried, and I got mine today. And I'd love to know how to get volume #1. Keep us posted.
