Before yesturday I was in Slovenia.
I visit occasional temporary exhibitions of applied art in National Muzeum of Slovenia - Metelkova.
There is very nice exhibition about medieval warriors.
This exhibition is not in great house of National Muzeum.
I advice all from central europa of this unique exhibition terminate 25.10. 2013

Some interesting pieces, I'm sure, even if you have seen the big museums around the area.


My re-enactment group Zlate ostroge is participating in monthly events, we have a presentation on medieval arms and on board games this saturday.

I wanted to do a bit of commercial for the exhibition here and on the other forums, but I wanted to wait first for the Museum to finish the exhibition...

It opened in December 2012, and now we're in the middle of June 2013, and they still haven't published the catalog of the exhibition. Some of the displays were unfinished until recently (for instance the one on Albion Ljubljanica replica)... So I waited. But now it's less than three months before closing! I hope they will manage to find the funds to publish the catalog. And I applaud them for making the exhibition, it's the first one on medieval arms and armour here since the 70'... They even managed to bring some really first class pieces from Vienna armoury (crossbow of Andreas Baumkirchner, A 79, armour of Emperor Maximillian I. by Lorenz Helmschmied)...

These are some photos from today's event. I know, there's no visitors on the pics, but that's because we were taking pictures ourselves in between, when we had some spare time.
