I have a couple practice bucklers made from round plywood with a drawer handle screwed to the back. I'd like to make a more authentic one, with a shield boss, and a straight wooden handle. Hs anyone used a GDFB boss for this, and if so, what size do I need? I assume the measurements are edge to edge, and they don't indicate the size of the dome interior.

If you're handy with a hammer, you can make your own boss from a stainless steel pet food bowl. I made a Viking shield like that once.......dog bowl, plywood, chamois cloth, upholstery tacks. Looked pretty decent ........considering it cost me about eight bucks to build. The GDFB bosses are good......but they get really good looking after a few hits. Just my opinion..........McM
