Pierre,
Very, very nice kit. I have to say you have got a great look for the mid 14th century going on there. Are you part of a group over there? Very nice work. Do you have any photos of the parts themselves? I'd love to see the items themselves.
perfect mix of mail, plate and splinted armour.
I am working on my own 1340s harness as well. Just need to get a helmet hammered out (literally) then I will be done. Love the mid 14th best period for reenactment ever! The mixing of the various armours and the development going on it just so neat.

Hey !! Yes I am in a group in Brittany : http://maisnie-tyvarlen.e-monsite.com/ , we just begin our activities 3 years ago so be indulgent  .
I am agree with you , mid 14 th is the best period to reenact !!!

Pierre, I really like your setup, especially the helm. For some reason not there are not a lot of greathelm-visored bascinets on the market, although it's a very cool looking design. Can you post a close up of the attachment point between your aventail and helm? Is it laced on with leather cord?

Really like it! Pretty good work. Figure appears to me as a lower echelon professional warrior that has prevailed in many hard campaigns.
I pretty much got involved in this hobby when I was in high school ... that was a century or two ago!

I am one step away from finishing my harness- helmet will be somewhat like yours. It is always nice to see what others are doing. If you are ok I would like to use some of your photos for a project I am working on if that is ok.
I am working on a kettle hat as an alternative helmet. I have a great helm and am working on a bascinet with great helm like visor and with the kettle I'll have a nice kit I can swap parts out with as I feel inclined.
If I am ever over in your area I'll have to see if I can stop by one of your events. My french is ok when reading but I'll work on cleaning it up before visiting! Much better at Anglo-Norman/French!

No I've been making helmets for some time so I am ok on that front. The one I am working at now is a hybrid between the Taymouth Hours, Holkham Bible an a few other helmets of the second quarter of the 14th.
I was going to use the photo in a collection of well done living history examples for a project on what the right look is for specific soldiers at specific times. It helps especially new members to living history get away from other images they might find online that do not help but are so much more common than well done examples.
If you are on facebook look me up. I have most of my harness there in my photo gallery. I used to have a flickr account but had some security issues with it so I had to jettison it.
Thanks for the invite! I hope to make Agincourt for the event in 2015 but we'll see!

It was the first snow of the season! Bloody cold by the whitewater. Thank you Randall! All clothes are handmade by me. The scabbard too. The bow Made by my friend Lars Persson and the arrows made by me. The sword is a blunted Pavel Moc Karel. The buckler is traded so I dont know who made it. My friend Arne Öhman took the photos!
