The server's hard drive array crashed. It's been slowly corrupting for months, resulting in corrupted backup data. I've restored a non-corrupt backup from three months ago and am working on trying to repair the more recent backups.

I've locked the other forums in the event that I can restore the more recent information.

I second Phil's comment--this website has become invaluable to me, as well as to many others in the community. The wealth of information that can be found and the international interaction toward common goals are wonderful. Thank you for all your hard work

I'm still working on this. I've got three months of backups that are all corrupted and full of errors. Argh! I'm trying to rebuild a complete data set and not having a ton of luck doing it. It's so much data and each task takes forever. Still trying...

Thanks. It's not going so well. Every attempt has failed so far. I have two complete sets (20 each!) of corrupted backups!

Nathan,

this is horrible. I hope you manage to get everything up again.

myArmoury is a forum I visit daily and have learned so much from and your efforts to keep it running are greatly appreciated.

Nathan, this place ain't exactly your " bread and butter ". List me amongst those who appreciate your efforts. That said, theres not a soul who participates here that will be anything but greatfull still if the best that can be done is picking up from the end of December and proceeding forward.

I second Allan's sentiment. Both the thank you, and to be counted among those who are fine proceeding from Dec. This is an amazing resource.

Even though I'm a new poster here, I've been a 'lurker' since my mid teenage years here; I have to say thank you along with everyone else for all the effort you've put into this site.

I upgraded my membership to help you pay for all of this.

I challenge everyone else here to do the same.

Thanks Nathan.

Still working on this. At least we have the site's content and an archived version of the forum, right? Right? Argh. Frustrating, I know.

Progress will be delayed because I have a full day of work ahead of me today.

Right on all accounts Nathan. It is a frustrating month, on top of the forum issues. Have a lemonade break any time there are lemons.

Best

If anybody is interested in my opinion. Don´t bother with the topics of the last months, just carry on. The most recent stuff should be in your minds to start over new. Just carry on. Why bother with the corrupt bits reconstruction. Just use your precious time for something else.

Thanks for the encouragement, Felix. I appreciate it. This may very well be something that needs to happen. I'm going to spend this evening and some time tomorrow to see what else I can do. If I can't get further, I'll call it quits and we'll do exactly as you say: continue from where we left off at the first of the year. That will be unfortunate, as there was some good content added in the last few months and some other important records that I really have no idea how I'm going to rebuild except with a ton of less than fun forensic work on my part.
