Peter, the paper you want is "'Ein Reitergrab der Merowingerzeit auf den Pappilanmaki im Kirchspiel Eura" by H. Salmo, published in the SMYA Journal XLVII.
Not read it myself so don't know if it shows the detail you want, just seen it referenced in Menghin.
The sword is held in Helsinki museum, who,, in conjunction with the University are currently developing this brilliant website on Finnish Iron Age weapons (this link takes you straight to the bit about Merovingian period ring-swords, including a colour photo of the Pappilanmaki and view of the top of a contemporary ring-sword pommel also from Finnland). Obviously it's in Finnish but it scrubs up quite well using Google Translate:-
