Started making my pattern welded claymore going good so far ready to cut the groves into the billet to make the ladder pattern.
The steel combo is L6 in the center then O1 eather side of that then L6 and mild steel for the rest of the billet this should look good i think in a ladder patten Attachment: 78.32 KB

I have been waiting with some anticipation for this one. I forget, what cross section did you finally decide on for this one? Your pics remind me of looking at an embryonic tiger, not much to look at yet but it will grow up into one heck of an intimidating beast.

im going to do the flattened diamond profile so the pattern will be fully formed this is my 2nd attemped at this sword the first one ended up being a small knife after the first weld being no good so i made this out of a bit of it just to remind me not to do it again but things are better this time i think Attachment: 31.65 KB
cutting the groves in the billet to make the ladder pattern just neeed to do the same to the other side then forge down to size then back into the mill to cut the profile of the blade. Attachment: 51.09 KB
