Looking for a nice, working sgian dubh, I ran across this site http://foxcreekforge.com/dirks3.htm. The dirks are quite nice too but the sgian's are wonderful and priced very nice. Thought that you of Scottish orentation might like this.

I like his durks. Nice!
I also like the subtle/simple look on his sgians...
I wonder how much he would charge for a durk...

Hi there Adam,
I have not tried to contact them yet but I plan it this coming week. From the looks of things on the website, I get the imperssion that this is a kinda one-man operation. So you may have more luck contacting them by phone is possible. If the dirks are as reasonably-priced as the sgians, then they should be a great bargin. I reall love these sgian dubhs because of their simplicity and for the price. The handles are nicely carved, but there is no gaudy silver or jewels. It's nice to find a sgian that is not "dress".

Richard Mize is the owner. I emailed him this past summer and told him I was interested in the next dirk he made. He contacted me about a month ago to let me know he was ready to start work on it. He has been great about keeping me updated on the progress with photos. Total cost including shipping and scabbard will be $375. The dirk will be very similar to the one he has posted at the top of the page.
I haven't bought anything from him before, but I have heard he does nice work. I'll post a thread with photos when I receive my finished dirk.
