I'm mainly familiar with Western European stuff, so I'm not very knowledgeable about the historical contexts and styles of lamellar. (Just a vague notion that it was a predominantly Eastern armour.)
Does anyone have some examples of the various forms of lamellar, as well as the time and place it was used?
Thanks for any information.
Hmm, I wonder why have they added armour from Valsgarde 8 to that site? To the best of my knowledge, there have been no lamellae found in that burial, and the staves depicted on that picture are not really in any way like lamellar plates, even if someone still would be thinking that they consist something else than leg and arm armour guards.
