I'm not sure if this is the correct thread. Chad or Nathan, please relocate if necessary

I have a collection that is growing rapidly. I tend to collect a wide variety of periods, but my collection, with a few exceptions, is a European one. While not a novice by any stretch, I have numerous swords and daggers from just about everybody, except Albion. However, I am very pleased to say that I just ordered my first Albion, The Prince (in bronze) from their Next Generation Line.

myArmoury's review, here:
http://www.myArmoury.com/review_alb_princesquire.html
was very helpful in my decision.

The Prince, which I ordered with a blue leather grip is just gorgeous, To tell you the truth, it has been haunting me. Seriously, I have had this sword in my head. So now I've ordered it and await in anticipation.

A scabbard for this will be an additional and very important decision I'll make upon receipt.

Thanks for letting me share my enthusiasm with this forum.

I'm sure there are others registered at this forum who have a Prince, so let's see them.

Congrats! The Prince was also my very first Albion. I still have it to this day, and it is to be my son's one day upon coming of age.

I'm sure you're gonna love it.

On a side note, in the wake of the Max release, is Albion offering the blue as a standard color now?

Yes Robin, I too noticed that it wasn't one of the usual options. But I specifically requested to Mike Sigman, who took my order, that I wanted 'The Maximilian' blue, and he said without hesitation, 'no problem'. I assume then that it's now an option for any Albion.
The Max blue against the bronze pommel on The Prince, IMO, will certainly look regal.

The Albion 'Maximilian' blue:

As a general rule, they've usually charged an extra $30 for non-standard colors. I've had them do two of mine in blue so far, though not that bright blue they put on the Maximilian. Happy

In looking over the invoice total it would appear that I was charged an extra $30-$35 for the Maximilian blue leather wrap.
I have no problem with that. You have your standard choices and you have options that you a pay bit more for. Fair enough to this collector.

Wasn't the Maximillian actually a purple colour. The blue looks good, I had a Knight with a blue grip.
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, but that which it protects. (Faramir, The Two Towers)

Again, here's the Maximilian blue from the Albion website:

I'm sure there are some violet hues however. And over time, with handling, the blue will darken.

I thought this was Bill Grandy's sword which he noted had a purple grip.
