The basic form is that of a late 16th century halberd, but the state of the piece suggests to me ( a definite non-expert) that it is a 19th century copy or possibly a particularly well-made copy of more modern origins. Some more detailed pics would help a lot, especially if someone more knowledgeable chimes in. Regardless, it is a beautiful weapon, I have always particularly liked this form of halberd. http://www.myArmoury.com/albums/displayimage....amp;pos=32
An original in the Albums section, from Hermann Historica.

What would help a lot are better photos. Clear closeups of the socket taken from several angles would be especially helpful. Is there any forging delamination? Photograph it. Rust pitting? Get a shot posted!
As Scott said, if this is a replica/later copy, it is one that has captured the form of these late 1500s halberds nicely.
