With Chad, Kia, and Ben Dawson making a trip out to Castlerock Arms on Friday I decided to make the drive out as well. But what get together is complete without an after party? I'm inviting anyone who is going to be out at Castlerock Arms back to my shop afterwards for a tour, bonfire, and if you bring some food I can fire up the grill and make it a cook out. If the need and desire for a demo comes about I'll fire up a forge and make it happen.
Ohhh what the heck, if anyone who isn't going to museum on Friday would like to come out you are more then welcome as well. I live in the woods so if there is a desire to spend the night bring a tent! Shoot me a PM for directions or more info!

Awesome!! Sounds like a plan! I could bring my Albion's if people wanted to cut with them. I have a Svante, Viceroy, and Doge

Ah, pics of the event would be nice although it shouldn't become a chore taking away the fun from one participant.
I would be curious to get some results of cutting with the Doge as I have one, but I don't really do any test cutting except for the paper cutting testing of edges after I sharpen them. ( Don't have the room or place to do some serious cutting ).
The Doge does seem like a cutter to me even though the blade is not extremely wide at the guard it does have only moderate profile taper and distal taper with an hexagonal cross section: it does have a lot of presence and the narrow width of blade I think is deceptive.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

We should have enough bodies to get some videos and pictures of swords in action, if there is enough day light of course! I would like to add that departure times should be scheduled for Saturday morning otherwise you will be put to work. No wonder I don't have many friends.... I invite them over only to give them work to do all day! Such is the glorious life

I won't be able to attend either, too much going on.
As an aside, would the museum getting special rates at local hotels help anyone make the trip? How about discount gas cards? I know that we could arrange those.

While I would love to take another tour of the museum and attend the party after, I am working a 10 hour shift and must decline.
