I have always liked this bare blade so I decided to get one for a project.
Here are a few photos of what I ended up with.
I made the pommel which I must say was a pain but I'm happy with the results, the guard I modified from a windlass irish sword by cutting off the two cone shaped ends I think it looks better if not more historic.
I have a little more touch ups to do but it is getting there.
The p.o.b is now 3.5 from the guard the pommel is hot penned.
The guard is 9 inch, grip 8 , over all with pommel 10 1/2 inch.

Though the pen is mightier than the sword,
the sword speaks louder and stronger at any given moment.

I like it. I can't speak to any historicity, but I like it. There's something special about putting together your own kit. Congratulations!

Thamks Guys, I'm not sure how historic my DIY project is but i like it,if anyone can tell me if there is an historic example similar my DIY that would be great.

James, that is a very sleek looking sword. Did you reduce the flared shoulders on your blade? My HT Longsword had a more obvious "swell" at the guard.
Also, would you tell us a bit about creating the pommel?

Eric I did not modify the blade, I agree the shoulders do look less flared than usual but this is how it came.
As for the pommel I got a 12 inch by 1 1/2 hex piece of steel for 4 bucks and started grinding, filing and sanding and never .again lol but I am happy I did it once.
